Affliction for long years I bore
Physicians were in vain
Till God was pleased to give me ease
And free me from pain
A light if from our household gone
A voice we loved is still
A vacant chair is in our home
Which none an ever fill

Grave Inscriptions
A headstone marks the place where the deceased is buried. It usually shows the name, date and place of death and sometimes includes a verse or quote.
For those of us that have an avid grave interest .

He suffered much
He suffered much, but murmured not
We watched him day by day
But often in our hearts we prayed
That he might longer stay
A light is from our household gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled
In loving memory of
Bert Walter Hubbard
Who passed away in 1948
We watched him day by day
But often in our hearts we prayed
That he might longer stay
A light is from our household gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled
In loving memory of
Bert Walter Hubbard
Who passed away in 1948
Two brothers
Sweet little flowers your bloom has fled
My darling boys this o'er
Shall we grieve because they're happy
And you are numbered with the dead
Short was your stay with us below
And lots we were to let you go
My darling boys this o'er
Your cheeks have lost their bloom
Your lips are pale, your eyes are dim
Death claims you for the tomb
Shall we grieve because they're happy
Shall we wish them back to weep
No ! We'll joy because our Saviour
Received our lambs today
In memoriam for twins

Dont overlook the rear of the headstone
We often forget to look at the back of a head stone, and sometimes there are additional names more so on the older ones. Do get into the habit of checking.
